As the 29th largest (by area) and the 33rd most populous state, Arkansas is found in the southeastern United States. The only active diamond mine and discovery area in the United States is in Arkansas. Public access to the world’s only diamond mining site is provided by the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Pike County. Tourists can dig their diamonds at the site. Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas had the world’s largest ostrich farm in the early 1900s. You can observe ostrich races and ride in ostrich-pulled wagons at popular tourist spots. There is a duck calling contest at the World’s Championship in Stuttgart, Arkansas, every Thanksgiving weekend. A championship ring is presented to the winner.
